We love this with a serving of sticky onion marmalade on the side!
Ingredients
2 thick slices of quality wholemeal bread (or another country style) - it needs to be robust!
50g Flour
50g Butter
250ml Stout
250g Strong Cheddar grated (we recommend Barbers)
Worcestershire Sauce, English Mustard, Salt and Pepper
2 Egg Yolks
Directions
Preheat your grill.
Melt the butter and add the flour, then slowly stir in the stout and cook until thickened.
Add the grated cheese and remove from the heat. Stir until the cheese is melted into the mixture.
Season with Worcestershire sauce, English mustard, salt and pepper.
Stir in the egg yolks (this will assist the glazing later)
Lightly toast the bread on both sides.
Spread the rarebit mixture on top (go right to the edge) and then dollop with generous pieces of our award winning Nduja.
Place under a hot grill to glaze.
Serve immediately
